THE PROJECT
Metal Roof Network is a Nevada-based supplier of premium metal roofing materials, with a copper specialty. Full disclosure – my father owns this small business, and I’ve managed his website from the start. We quickly established that he needed a high-performing website and blog that would reach homeowners, architects, designers and contractors in search of metal roofing. The company was blowing through a $500 Google AdWords budget in a matter of days, so a secondary goal was to reduce that dependency on paid search by boosting the site’s organic rank.
THE APPROACH
One of the big challenges to overcome in the world of metal roofing is the perception that it’s the kind of stuff you put on a barn. Actually, metal roofing comes in the most amazing array of profiles, colors, textures and styles, and its durability, performance and lifespan far exceed other choices. Our goal was to share this with potential roof buyers, and so we set about establishing MRN as the go-to for roofing and re-roofing information with tons of free content, a blog with highly-optimized, keyword-rich posts and a few strategic social media accounts.
THE UPSHOT
We’re in the midst of a re-branding campaign to change the aesthetic of the site, but our weekly blogging is still going strong. “Jessica has been an absolute blessing for my business,” says Chris Testa, owner. “She has been the principal writer and copy editor for every page of our website and all of our promotional material.
